Encore Community Services provides care and service to the elderly of the Clinton/Times Square/Midtown communities, and to any elderly person who comes to us; to assist those who are vulnerable and frail, poor and homeless, homebound and lonely, frequently desperate, most often ignored; to help them with their daily needs that they might live as independently as possible, with dignity and decency, in a non-institutional manner, in a safe and caring environment. By nurturing, respecting and enabling, Encore hopes to improve the quality of an older person’s life, in an approach that emanates from the core of Encore’s commitment: we believe that what we do comes from the heart, and the heart is the center of all.

Volunteer Opportunity

Encore offers 200+ meals on site meals and delivered meals daily. Meal delivery is done Monday through Friday from 10am to 12:30pm. Meal packing is Monday through Friday from 11am to 1pm and Saturday from 9am to 11am.  Meal Service is Monday through Friday from 11am to 1pm and 1pm to 2:30pm. Meal prep is Monday through Friday 8am to 10am.

Grab and Go Lunches are available each Saturday, volunteers are needed from 11:30am to 2:30pm.

There are Saturday Art Classes from 12:30pm to 2pm where volunteers will be responsible for setting up, collecting materials, and engaging with the older adults throughout.
