Our Mission
We built Bright Light because we couldn’t find volunteer opportunities that fit real life. Bright Light provides easy, social, and impactful volunteer events for busy New Yorkers. Unlike traditional volunteer programs that require long-term commitments, paperwork, or background checks, we offer quick, flexible opportunities outside the workday where anyone can show up and make a difference.
How It Works
Timing: Before work, after work, and on weekends.
Commitment: One-off events, sign up when it works for you.
Access: Open to anyone who wants to make an impact.
How To Get Involved
Here’s our challenge to you: give one hour to your city. No pressure. No previous experience needed. Just show up, meet your neighbors, and make a tangible difference!

Bright Light Events
We host gatherings where volunteers make sandwiches, pack care kits, or assemble other essentials to donate to local organizations.
Partner Events
We team up with local nonprofits to create volunteer opportunities outside the workday at their facilites, giving you direct, hands-on ways to support their missions.
No long-term commitments: just simple, social, and impactful opportunities to shine your light.
