Show Up for the City This Summer
Summer in NYC is a whirlwind! Between weekend getaways, weddings, beach days, and juggling everyday life in the city, our calendars fill up fast. I know mine does, I’m constantly bouncing between soaking up the sun and catching up on laundry.
Since starting Bright Light and speaking regularly with our nonprofit partners, I’ve realized something important: while we may step away to recharge, the needs of our city don’t take time off.
People are still hungry. Still unhoused. Still in need of support. In fact, summer can be even more challenging, especially for those exposed to rising temperatures and limited resources.
The organizations we partner with rely on volunteers to keep things running. But during the summer, many corporate volunteer groups hit pause, and student-led efforts take a break. That means fewer hands to help right when they’re needed most.
At Bright Light, we understand your schedule’s full, and so is ours. That’s why we create one-off, meaningful volunteer opportunities outside of the 9-to-5 that fit into your real life.
This summer, we invite you to show up for your community. Join us for an event. Bring a friend. Be the reason someone gets a meal, a smile, or a helping hand.
The need doesn’t take a vacation. But neither does your impact. Join us!
